Every spring, weather nerds like me wait anxiously for cold air from Canada to collide with the warm air rising out of the Gulf of Mexico. And like clockwork, we watch mesocyclones (big thunderstorms to most people) build and build until they drop one of nature’s most deadly events, the tornado.
Here's the information I want every family to know. Children are falling from windows at an alarming rate – more than 3,300 kids five and under go to the emergency every year. Window falls are a completely preventable. All windows should have window guards, child safe window stops or 4-inch window opening limiters. We recommend Guardian Angel window guards, KidCo window stops or KidCo mesh window guards because these all meet ASTM safety standards.

So here are the top 10 shocking facts I’ve learned in my first year at Safe Kids.
I am a parent of two beautiful young girls; and, my promise to them, above all other responsibilities in my life, is to protect them. It’s a non-negotiable obligation. It’s my highest priority.
