Install. Inspect. Protect. Campaign

Install. Inspect. Protect. Smoke alarms save lives.

Safe Kids USA joins the United States Fire Administration for the Install. Inspect.  Protect. Campaign, which calls for parents and caregivers to take important steps to protect their families from fire-related injuries.  These steps include:

  • Installing and maintaining smoke alarms
  • Practicing fire escape plans
  • Performing a walk-through to remove fire hazards in your home
  • Installing home fire sprinklers, especially if you are building a new home

Review this checklist for more details on how to make these changes in your home.

It’s also important to teach your kids why smoke alarms are so important and to practice a fire escape plan with them.  Give your kids these fun activities to help them learn more about smoke alarms.

For more information about the Install. Inspect. Protect. Campaign, visit www.usfa.dhs.gov/smokealarms.
