Safe Kids is committed to keeping you informed about recalls of kids’ oriented products. While it is important to keep aware of all recalls, Safe Kids urges you to pay particular attention to ones in red, as they are associated with one or more deaths. Please note: Safe Kids is now emphasizing especially important recalls at the beginning of the listings (in italics).
11/21/2013 CPSC: Angelcare Monitors Inc, of Quebec, Canada, is announcing a voluntary recall their Movement and Sound Baby Monitors after two deaths due to strangulation hazard. The product includes a sensor pad with a cord that must be placed under the crib mattress, which could pose a serious threat if the child becomes wrapped in the cord. Units: 600,000
11/26/2013 CPSC: Burley Design is recalling their Tailwind Racks for Trailercycles because the aluminum piece that connects the bikes can break, causing the bikes to disconnect and therefore posing a fall hazard. Units: About 4,150
11/26/2013 CPSC: Little Willy’s Hooded Sweatshirts are being recalled due to drawstrings through the hood and neck that fail to meet the safety standards and pose a strangulation hazard. Units: 200
11/26/2013 CPSC: American Boy and Girl is recalling their Girl’s “Susan” Sandals because the top strap can be pulled loose from the shoe, which presents a choking hazard. Units: 1,300
11/26/2013 FDA: Flat Creek Farm & Dairy is recalling their “Heavenly Blue” cheese because of potential Salmonella contamination.
11/25/2013 FDA: Zip International Group LLC is recalling its herring fillet in oil due to Listeria contamination, which can be especially dangerous for small children of those with weak immune systems.
11/23/2013 FDA: Jayone Foods, inc. is recalling Trader Joe’s brand Dried Seaweed Salad with Spicy Dressing due to undeclared traces of peanuts.
11/21/2013 CPSC: The Bailey Boys is recalling its Boy’s Loungewear Pants due to a failure to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. Units: 2,000
11/21/2013 CPSC: ElliptiGO is voluntarily recalling their Outdoor Elliptical Cycles due to reports of the front fork and drive arm axles detaching, which could posed a fall hazard for users. Units: 7,200
11/20/2013 FDA: Physique Enhancing Science is voluntarily recalling lots of Enhanced, a pre-workout supplement, and Alphamine, because they contain aegeline, an ingredient being investigated by the FDA based on reports of liver damage. For the same reason, USPlabs is recalling lots of OxyElite Pro.
11/20/2013 FDA: Marina’s German Bakery is recalling two-count packages of pastry products due to undeclared almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts.
11/18/2013 FDA: Blount Fine Foods is recalling a Wegman’s brand refrigerated New England Clam Chowder due to undeclared crab in the product. Units: One lot with the code 10313-8J
11/13/2013 CPSC (with Healthy Canadians): Step-2 is voluntarily recalling Step2® Whisper Ride Touring Wagon, sold exclusively at ToysRUs because of a fall hazard. Units: 14,000.
11/7/2013 NHTSA: Orbit Baby, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain G2 Car Seat Bases because the StrongArm Knob component of the seat, intended to secure the seat's base, may become detached or spin. If the seat base is not properly secured, a child may be at an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
10/28/2013: Breathable Baby is voluntarily recalling BreathableSack wearable blankets for infants because the zipper pull tabs and sliders can detach posing a choking hazard to infants. Units: 15,000.

11/14/2013 FDA: Crunch Pak® of Cashmere, Washington is voluntarily recalling Crunch Pak® Apple Slices due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes. Units: 5471 cases.
11/14/2013 FDA: La Boulange Café & Bakery voluntarily recalling Soft Caramel Jams in 8.4 oz. jars with lot number 822713 as a precautionary measure for possible mislabeling a nut hazard.
11/13/2013 FDA: 3 Fellers LLC is voluntarily recalling of 3 Fellers Chocolate Cream Pies as a precautionary measure because the product may contain undeclared almonds.
11/13/2013 CPSC: Dream-on-Me is voluntarily recalling Lullaby Cradle Gliders because of a fall hazard (the mattress support board can fallout). Units: 700.
11/12/2013 CPSC: Babycottons is voluntarily recalling children’s nightgowns for failure to meet the federal flammability standard for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. Units: 1100.
11/12/2013 CPSC: L.L. Bean is voluntarily recalling girl’s pajama sets for failure to meet the federal flammability standard for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. Units: 80.
11/12/2013 CPSC: Wood Castle Furniture is voluntarily recalling Riley Duo Bunk Beds because of an entrapment hazard, including asphyxiation. (The guardrails exceed 3 ½ inches.) Units: 1000.
11/11/2013 FDA: Palmer Candy Company is voluntarily recalling HyVee Chocolate Caramel Clusters and 90 cases HyVee Chocolate Covered Caramels because they may contain undeclared peanuts. Units: 102 cases.
11/8/2013 FDA: Plum Organics is voluntarily recalling pouch products within its Baby Stage 2, Tots Mish Mash and Kids lines because of a manufacturing defect that may cause spoilage in some pouches.
11/7/2013 CPSC: Vans is voluntarily recalling boy’s hooded jackets because the jackets have drawstrings that pose a strangulation hazard to young children. Units: 2400.
11/7/2013 FDA: Garden-Fresh Foods is voluntarily expanding a previous recall of fresh cut vegetables, ready-to-eat salads, slaws, dips and spreads due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes.
11/5/2013 CPSC (with Healthy Canadians): One World Technologies is voluntarily recalling Ryobi P113 Dual Chemistry Battery Charger because the chargers can malfunction, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Units: 578,000 in U.S. and 49,000 in Canada.
11/3/2013 FDA: Ghiringhelli Specialty Foods is voluntarily recalling one lot of Trader Giotto’s Caesar Salad because it may not list wheat, soy and fish (anchovy) in the ingredients.
11/3/2013 FDA: Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc. is voluntarily expanding its recall of refrigerated ready-to-eat products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
11/1/2013 FDA: The Perrigo Company is voluntarily recalling acetaminophen infant suspension liquid because a small number of packages might contain an oral dosing syringe without dose markings.
11/1/2013 FDA: Following the expansion of Reser's Fine Foods “Reser’s” product recall for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination, Dutch Treat Salads is voluntarily recalling Mexicali Dip, which contains one ingredient recalled by Reser’s.
10/31/2013 CPSC: LaRose Industries is voluntarily recalling Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines because a brass rivet can fall out of the sno-cone machine’s ice-shaving cylinder and into a sno-cone, posing a risk of injury to the mouth or the teeth.
10/31/2013 FDA: Following the expansion of Reser's Fine Foods “Reser’s” product recall for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination, select prepared foods offerings sold in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia were impacted. As a result, Giant Eagle has implemented a voluntary recall of salads and slaws.
